KIP-800
Water-based intumescent fire retardant coating for structural steel (2 Hours fire rating)
Fire Safe
KIP-800
KIP-800 is a premium water-based intumescent fire-retardant coating for structural steel that provides up to 2 hours of fire resistance rating. When exposed to fire, the coating expands up to 50 times its dry film thickness, forming a thick, insulating carbon char layer that protects the steel structure from reaching critical failure temperature. Certified as per BS 476. Essential for commercial buildings, malls, hospitals, industrial facilities, and any structure requiring fire safety compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does '2-hour fire rating' mean?
It means the coated steel structure will maintain its structural integrity for up to 2 hours during a fire, giving occupants more time to evacuate and fire services time to respond.
Is KIP-800 mandatory for buildings?
Fire protection for structural steel is mandatory in commercial buildings, high-rises, hospitals, and public spaces as per Indian building codes.
Can it be applied over existing paint?
KIP-800 should be applied directly over anti-corrosive primer for best performance. Remove existing decorative coatings before application.
