Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between distemper and emulsion paint?
Distemper is more economical but not washable. Emulsion paint is more durable, washable, and provides better colour retention. Choose distemper for budget projects and emulsion for longer-lasting results.
Can distemper be applied over old paint?
Yes, provided the old paint is in good condition. Sand lightly and apply a coat of primer before distemper.
How long does acrylic distemper last?
Typically 3–4 years on properly prepared surfaces. Emulsion paints last longer (5–7 years) for comparison.
